Early this morning, the Office of the Prime Minister publically announces the passage of the Diplomatic Law (D.L.) 008, known as the Acrin Admission Act, which formally admits the Kingdom of Acrin into the North American Confederation with full statehood status. This agreement with the Karno-Ruthenian Empire comes after months of diplomatic talks and negotiations between the Prime Minister Marx and Oscar of the Karno-Ruthenian Empire.
The act designates that the Kingdom of Acrin will enjoy all the privileges of statehood, including representation in the soon to be established national legislature; as well as continue to exist as a kingdom within the Karno-Ruthenian Empire. King Oscar I of the Karno-Ruthenian Empire will continue to rule as King of Acrin, with the assistance of High Commissioner Christian von Letzembourg. Both shall be granted full citizen status within the Confederation and allowed to engage in the Confederation’s national politics.
The Emperor and the Prime Minister both expressed optimism and joy at the ratification of the treaty, citing a parallel with the Missouri Compact, which was ratified earlier this year.
The Prime Minister had the following to say regarding the importance of the Acrin Admission Act:
“With every passing day, the government of the Confederation grows stronger and more defined in its powers and responsibilities. Our citizens grow ever more committed to the cause and it is through actions like the Missouri Compact and Acrin Admission Act that we provide evidence towards our commitment to uphold the spirit of micronationalism and advance that spirit throughout the American continent.
“Our friendship with the Karno-Ruthenian Empire will only grow from our shared territory and will serve not only as an example to all the world of the potential of American micronationalism, but as an inspiration to future micronations for decades to come. But even in this, our job is not yet done. The road to concluding my provisional government and lasting stability will be a long and treacherous one. But I hold great hope for the future of our Confederation and that of Karno-Ruthenia, with such individuals as myself, Emperor William and King Oscar now working as one towards the same end, that being the lasting stability and cultural independence of our now-fraternal nations.”
The Acrin Admission Act will go into full effect on the 11th of May, 2016 and can be viewed here.
