City of Wright, Commonwealth of Greene
Late last night, King Aaron I of Eniarku, former Prime Minister of the North American Confederation, declared the erroneous belief that he was the lawful Emperor of the North American Confederation.
The general idea behind his belief is the notion that Emperor William’s abdication in 2011 during the Micras Crisis, which directly led to the chaos of the interregnum, made His Majesty’s return to power in 2015 illegitimate and that the crown rightfully belongs to the individual who was granted the Emperor’s authority by the abdication statement, that being the prime minister of the time, Aaron Meek.
Leaving aside the fact that those powers were vested in the office of the Prime Minister, not ex-Prime Minister Meek directly; Let it be said here first that Emperor William is the rightful Emperor of the North American Confederation. The House of Hartmann-Peters is the rightful ruling house of the same.
The reasons for this fact being numerous, I shall attempt with the utmost grace correct any misconceptions on Eniarku’s part.
1.
The Emperor reclaimed his title due, in large part, to the failure of the Meek government to maintain order and governance, as evidenced by the interregnum.
The stipulations of His Majesty’s abdication statement are abundantly clear:
"I expect of them [The individual in possession of the Emperor’s power] that they shall render assistance to those in actual power in North American Confederation, in protecting the people from the threatening dangers of anarchy, and foreign rule."
Anarchy? Like the anarchy which befell the Confederation almost immediately following the abdication of the Emperor as a result of the absolute authority of Meek? If the former Prime Minister wishes to declare that he and his nation, a former state of the Confederation, have any right to rule over the rest of the Confederation, he is sorely mistaken.
King Aaron forfeited any right to the authorities granted to him by the abdication. Eniarku effectively seceded from the Confederation by signing our Treaty of Mutual Recognition, thus not only recognizing the restoration of the House of Hartmann-Peters but also peacefully returning all power given to the King to the provisional government. One must understand that we are an American micronation and at the core of our micronational belief, central to the spirit of micronationalism in fact, is the following belief from the U.S. Declaration of Independence, which forms the basis of all Independence movements:
“...Under absolute Despotism, it is their[the citizenry’s] right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
The Confederation was in shambles during the interregnum. Did Prime Minister Meek attempt to maintain order or salvage what remained? No, he abandoned Ohio to anarchy and without even consulting members of his own cabinet, in which I was Foreign Minister, left the Confederation with members of the Commu-Socialist Party. So, the Emperor and I did what we could to reestablish order and establish new guard for our nation’s security, by first and foremost, restoring the powers of the Emperor to the House of Hartmann-Peters.
2.
In addition, when the provisional government was established, efforts were made on behalf of my administration to bring Eniarku back into the fold or otherwise regain the legal documents which Eniarku now uses to stake their claim . When they refused, citing self-rule and the loss of such works, we decided to not formally press the matter. It is interesting to note that, upon discovery of such works from the Meek government and First Congress, that the former Prime Minister chose to attempt to destabilize our nation rather than assist us as the friends that our treaty of mutual recognition demands.
Even with their refusal to rejoin the Confederation, they still expressed a desire to continue diplomatic ties between our two nations, formally recognizing my government; which received its authority from Emperor William, thereby approving of his authority.
By denying the Emperor, they likewise deny my government’s authority and, any law we pass, which now includes the provisional legislature. Which brings me to my third point.
3.
The Emperor not only possesses the right of restoration (the same principle which gave Juan Carlos of Spain and James II of England the right to regain their thrones), but also an approval by the citizenry through the principle of affirmation. We established for ourselves, a new Congress, to represent the citizens of the Confederation and declare their will to His Majesty’s government, with a particular focus on our new Constitution.
Whilst many of the Senators were appointed by commissions, Deputy Prime MInister McCollum, who represents my home state of the Commonwealth of Greene, was unanimously elected by the citizens of the same. The Commonwealth of Greene is a successor state to the Republic of Ohio just like Eniarku, though it chose to remain loyal to the Confederation.
By denying that our people could elect such an individual to represent our interests to the Emperor and his government, Eniarku attacks the very democratic principles he claims he wishes to defend and places his nation above another of equal measure to his own.
The fact that Eniarku would attempt such a move, at a critical juncture in our political process is insulting. It reeks of a cruelty and a despotism which is utterly loathsome and contrary to every democratic principle.
By disputing our monarch’s position, he questions our government. He questions our democratic principles and all the labor that our people have put into achieving our nation’s long-term stability. He dare states that he can help us to “improve” our democracy? We who just over a month ago, held our first Congressional meeting in over 5 years. Who have officials who actively meet for cabinet meetings and have even begun the work of establishing sound economic principles.
Eniarku’s cabinet insults the labors of my administration, the labors and sacrifices of our citizenry and then asks us to submit to Eniarkian will.
We will not.
We do not accept any claim made by the former Prime Minister nor by his nation. The North American Confederation will not even humor the possibility and, in the strongest possible terms, reprimands the Eniarkian king and his government for their irresponsibility and insulting political attitude.
As Prime Minister of the North American Confederation, I, appointed by the Emperor, and representing the citizens say that no Eniarkian will ever be our Emperor.
Long live the North American Confederation and long live Emperor William, the true emperor.
