To my fellow citizens and micronationalist throughout the world,
Greetings. I hope that all of you have had a spectacular holiday season. This past year was filled with much joy and hardship, both externally and within the North American Confederation. Much has changed and much will continue to change.
I release this message with the intention of it becoming a tradition of the North American Confederation government, a yearly resolution indicating our intentions and ambitions for the coming year. A promise from which this government and others can be held accountable to the people.
First and foremost, I feel that this is absolutely necessary for the provisional government to end before 2016 is out and a new, elected government must be established. To this end, my Government has been laboring to establish the Constitutional Laws of the North American Confederation. Rather than singular document which would be amended when necessary, the Constitutional Laws will be a set of statutes which can be replaced with superior ones down the line, allowing for greater flexibility in these early days.
Beyond the political, it is almost my desire, as has been expressed to several nations, to begin the framework and infrastructure for a national stable economy. In a few weeks time, I will be meeting the Emperor and Empress, who is also our Minister of Finance, to discuss the economic path our nation wishes to take. Several industrial and services industries are already in consideration.
2016 looks to be a glorious year for our nation. Our population has quadrupled in the last six months, we have passed several major pieces of legislation and performed numerous diplomatic ventures, the majority of which have turned out very positive.
But we cannot waiver now.
This will be a trying time for our nation. Periods of upheaval and change always are. But we will triumph and become the paragons of micronationalism that I promised in the Missouri Proclamation.
We will succeed by strength of our resolve and valor of our cause.
I hope you all have a wonderful new year and that all of you meet good fortunes.
Long Live the North American Confederation!
-The Right Honourable
Rev. Joseph Marx
