To my fellow citizens and micronationalist throughout the world,
Another year has passed and it is once again time for my administration to issue its yearly resolution. Our statement outlying our intentions and desires for the coming year.
It cannot be denied that our resolution for last year was far more ambitious than could reasonably be completed. Regardless, my administration's progress in fulfilling our 2016 resolution was, to my mind, exlemplary given the often insurmountable obstructions in our path.
Last year, we managed to construct a provisional legislature and held our very first Senate meeting since the collapse of the Meek government nearly 6 years ago. Our political factions have begun to solidify and even though my Administration's desire to create a semi-codified Constitution was unsuccessful in the face of the Liberal and Constitutionalist platforms, as I stated to the Emperor in a private meeting only a few days ago: "In a democracy, even a defeat is a victory for the process".
Our democracy, though fledgling, grows stronger with every meeting and decision, and the coming months, already set and planned in many regards, will determine what shape and strengths, our Confederation will possess.
In addition, my Administration will begin to forward our economic agenda, creating an economy based upon supporting the development of micronational culture and investment in private and nationalized industries; like our recently founded Micronational College of Arms. I will attempt in the future to forward legislation to the Confederate Senate for the creation of a national bank to unify our nation's credit and strengthen the Amero, a basic tax code on Confederation-oriented businesses, and work with foreign micronations to establish strong diplomatic and economic ties, including trading policies and procedures.
In the social sector, I will forward an agenda of tolerance and social freedom, allowing the expression of one's identity and heritage to be unilaterally protected and endeared. The Confederation is an experiment in cultural construction and it will be through the individual identities and beliefs of our citizens that that culture will be advanced and propogated.
The challenges ahead will be difficult, and our neighbors, both micronationally and macronationally, are facing and producing challenges that our nation will be forced to rise above and hold ourselves in our own moral imperatives. My administration will not give in to the fear and intolerance which so many other nations in the world now seem fit to propogate, nor will we allow such emotions sway us away from the responsibilities which proper governance demands.
We will rise above the expectations of micronations. We will secure our budgetary and political climate and conclude the provisional government. It is my hope that by the time the 2018 Resolution comes around, I will be speaking to you as an elected official of a permanent Confederate government.
Standing together, the future of the Confederation will be strong.
Long Live the North American Confederation!
-The Right Honourable
Rev. Joseph Marx
Prime Minister of the North American Confederation
